GamersNexus finds Fractal’s $170 Summit looks distinctive but trails the Meshify 3 in cooling and value.
GamersNexus reviews Fractal’s Summit, a $170 case with a wood-wrapped front and a $200 premium version. The wood is carefully shaped, and details such as the secure cable grommet and spring-latched front panel impress, but the review flags flimsy panels, loose parts from the factory, a sagging GPU support, and extra drive mounts that require separately purchased hardware. In noise-normalized testing at 27 dBA, the Summit averages 46°C above ambient on CPU cores and 46°C on the GPU; the Meshify 3 cools better. At full fan speed, removing the front panel barely changes temperatures, but the Summit is louder than the Meshify 3—40.8 versus 37.5 dBA. The verdict: buy it mainly for its wood styling. The Meshify 3, Fractal North XL, Lian Li Lancool 217, and Antec P120 Pro offer stronger alternatives, often for less.
