How Jeetu Patel Runs Cisco Like the World’s Largest Startup

影片總結

Cisco President Jeetu Patel says AI orders hit $9.3 billion, agents need stronger security, and AI will create demand for more engineers.

Cisco President and Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel tells Y Combinator’s Jared Friedman how he is pushing the company to operate like “the world’s largest startup,” pairing speed with scale. Cisco’s AI infrastructure orders grew from zero to $9.3 billion in two years, as Patel argues that data-center capacity is still scarce: AI agents could use 450% more network bandwidth than humans doing the same task. He says Cisco is building agent security tools for visibility, identity, testing and runtime guardrails. Inside Cisco, he expects AI to require more engineers, not fewer, and describes asking 32,000 engineers to adopt it, including unlimited tokens and a mandate to use AI. Patel also recounts leaving India at 19, waiting tables at Sizzler and learning that career choices should favor growth over ego; his advice is to think ambitiously, build lasting teams and make the most of opportunity.
